Minutes To Midnight-Explicit

I've been wondering why they decided to drop the f-bomb in their new cd, Their previous cd's had no cussing in them whatsoever, And I remember reading awhile back they took pride in not cursing in their music, or something around those lines. Did they just have a change of heart or something? I own all of their cd's except the one with Jay-Z. It's not like it kills me to see them cursing, but it was something I liked about them. that's why I bought the CD at walmart, I didn't figure it was edited so I didn't care where I got it. But yeah, still love LP. Just a question i've been wondering.

It's prolly because they fuckin wanted to.

 

And to fuckin keep people from thinking they're fuckin Christian. Because for fuck's sake they're not.

I totally don't care if they curse or not...it doesn't change the richness of the music.

at times when your writing if you hold back

it comes off as kinda childish at times

Also, sometimes there is no other word that can convey the power of that emotion/feeling etc trying to be conveyed. It conveys the extreme force of the emotion, and in my opinion, the songs would not be as good without it.

I don't think of them any less because of the cussing, it doesn't bother me, but I did respect them a lot for being able to create powerful lyrics without the cussing. However, I do agree that swearing can add the right touch to an anger driven lyric. Point is, it really doesn't affect my opinion of them.

You got the words right out of my mouth lol :-P But I love how LP express their emotion in cursing... Chester really did curse!!! At the last Melbourne show when he broke his wrist haha.

i didnt really like minutes to midnight man, to me LP coulda done a lot better. now i'm not saying the album was a total bust but it was their worst one.

Well from what i read from Blender, they stated that they are not kids anymore and they need to grow up. I think that Rick Rubin had something to do with it a litte. But they had to grow up sooner or later I guess. But like i said, that's what I heard.

I love the album so I have no problem with it, now they have more room to move around..just my opinion

I mean they can't stay the way they are now forever right? They had to change sooner or later.

2. They always liked swearing, but they had a contract with Warner that apparently didn't allow them to swear (as far as I know??!?!?!).
