Mods and Threads

i have a question for the mods..maybe not such an important one, but i've been wondering about it for a while now.

how does a mod know when they have to close a thread? i mean..i could know why, but do you guys check every single new thread and keep checking old threads to see if a fight is starting? what's the deal with that?

Yes, us mods with no life watch over every thread to keep an eye out for fights, & the like. As for knowing when to close, we talk about it in private, take a vote, & then react accordingly. ^_^
