Mogwai - Mr Beast

So now that it has been leaked for awhile, what does everyone think of Mogwai's new album "Mr Beast". I still like Rock Action/My Father My King the best, but I feel it's right up there with CODY and HSFHP. And clearly better than EP+6, Young Team, Ten Rapid. It comes out in March, so if there are still some that haven't heard it yet, here are a couple of cuts. I kinda miss the super epic long tunes, but oh well. It's still good ol' noisey post-rock just with shorter songs. Discuss.

that is an awesome song, really like the guitar

friend of the night is pretty good too i dont really like the soft parts but the melodic intervals every now and then make it sound so nice.

Well you can't always have ***** to the wall with every song. Emotion is struck when something gradually takes off to something grand. That's what post rock music usually is all about. Creepy Soft Intro-Builds to Extreme Noisey Crescendo-Slow Unsettling Outro. And "Friend of the Night" SOARS when the counter piano piece plays out at the bridge. The distortion and delay that pours from the guitar is spacey gorgeous-ness at its finest. Typical of Mogwai when they do their space rock noise opuses.
