My Win 7 system died completely after awaking from sleep, downloading some update, installing and rebooting. Now it goes directly to a blue crash screen. It will not boot under any boot option at all. Straight to blue screen crash dump. I booted with
logging enabled and the last driver to be loaded was mouhid.sys. (I put the drive in a new machine to look at it). The program size was 30.5K, which according to what I have read is off by 2X.
I tried to download and replace the file thinking that if this was a trojan, maybe I could get the machine to boot. Win 7, will not allow me to chage the file, even though it is the I drive, and I am the administrator. It says I need approval from "TrustedInstaller".
How in the world do I get that? I am not installing from a website. Can anybody help me? There is a lot at stake here.
