MSE says I need to perform a scan, but I just did...

Win7 / 64bit
Security Essentials Version: 4.0.1111.0
Antimalware Client Version: 4.0.1111.0
Engine Version: 1.1.7903.0
Antivirus definition: 1.117.2114.0
Antispyware definition: 1.117.2114.0
Network Inspection System Engine Version: 2.0.7707.0
Network Inspection System Definition Version: 10.7.0.0

I run a full scan on a daily basis.
No matter when I run a scan (scheduled or ad hoc), the "Home" tab of MSE shows "You haven't run a scan on your PC for a while."
The "Home" tab does correctly list the last time I ran a scan.

I am NOT running CCleaner nor ASC.
I do not have any other antimalware installed on the PC.
The only other antimalware I've ever had installed was the previous version of MSE.

Any ideas on what is telling MSE that I need to scan?
