You have a very... cartoonish style? Anime influence perhaps? I have to say I REALLY liked the pointillism pic cause OMG that would have taken forever! Awesome though.

The tat wasn't bad, Amystika good use of depth, Chris Angel reminded me a bit of Mr Valo :) Dunno why, the Crow good use of contrast and negative space, Jukka was sweet, can actually see him as a cartoon character, The Sesshomaru really is awesome, probably the best out of all of them IMHO, subtle shade, good use of contrast, and incredible composition because the eye keeps being looped back in, a neat trick when you can manage it which you did. Rob portrait is very impressionistic. The eyes are what draw you in. Are you the kind of person that takes the most notice of someone's eyes/eye contact when meeting by any chance, seeing as that's where the 'focus' literally is. M Shadows, not bad. Like the colours, for sure but he's a head floating... needed a hint of backdrop or something to 'ground' him. Other than that good. And the pic of you and the cookie was just adorable! It's actually reminiscent of early Picasso sketches (before the cubist and blue periods). The strokes are aggressive but the subject isn't. Man I could probably 'read' the most into this pic if I had to.

All in all you've got quite a style there Mel. Keep at it. Just one word of advice I have never forgotten since Uni - always always always 'ground' your portraits. You don't have to give detail, even shaded tones and shapes rather than detail might be better than nothing and give your subject matter a context. Just a thought.

Good stuff - and best of luck with it!
