I'm not very computer literate. I have a new Laptop that is running Windows 7. It had Norton 60 day trialpre-installed but I removed that and installed Essentials. From this forum I have since run a recommended utility to remove all traces of Norton. It has made no difference at all to the scan run times which seem to be about 15 hours, also annoyingly the scan pauses when the PC goes into idle mode so I can't leave it running overnight.
From running daily scans on my old PC I am now down to running once er month as it is so inconvenient.
I note from the forums that people suspect malware but I really don't want to load software.
Doesn't anyone know why it runs so slow? I haven't had such problems with it in the past.
