Guest DougDenis
Recently I noticed the my PC notification icon had some messages and when I looked into it I found that one of the problems was my anti-malware and virus protection MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials)was not turned on...so as I tried to launch it fromthe PC notification area...it failed to launch or even message me of any problems...I then tried to start the services related with out any luck. I tried to go to the web site for support but started dto get re-directed everytime I did a search...I tried every way I am away of to start it but I had no luck...I even tried to open as administrator with no luck. My browser is usless as it always redirects. I then loggen in in "Safe-Mode and was finally able to start MSE but not in the usual launch sequence....unfortunately I do noy even remember the how I finally launched it (sorry). So once launched I ran a full scan hoping to catch this virus through the back door...the scan found nothing. Thinking maybe I didnt have the library up to date I then updated MSE and Windows to see if it would help...from everything I can tell this has made it worse. No i can no longer logon to my machine in anything but "safe-Mode. My last attempted action was to uninstall MSE and try to re-install...again no luck. Please, if there is anyone with any knowledge that could assist me in reclaiming my computer then I woule be very grateful. Also...I think it important to note that i do not remember ever turning the protection off at all so maybe it turning off could be related. As it stands i have basically lost the ability to use my computer outside of safe-mode Please help Continue reading...
