I have been pushing many local bands in the reviews section
We Yes You No
They are a strong alternative band which relly on subtle hooks and clever arrangements rather then hooky power pop guitar associated with british rock of today. One of the best unsigned artist albums I have heard all year.
Meet Me In St.Louis
Post hardcore band which I really like and dont cause me to want to pull my eyes out everytime I see them or blow up my ears whenever I hear them.
Bearsuit
On their 3rd album now and are steadily getting a fan base with their pop, they have gained publicity for their mad live shows which feel more like a surreal cartoon then a gig.... no it's not just costumes toxic.
Jetplane Landing
Rock band which employs some rap rock asthetics but arent terribly boring, sounds like a cross between rage against the machine and red hot chili peppers I guess.
Future Of The Left
By product of mclusky, very strong band which is great fun to yell along to when drunk due to the fact it is really good & well exectuted rock music.
Eugene McGuinness
Twists the stereotypical singer songwriter stereotype.... has some of the whittiest lyrics of the year and some of the nicest melodies
Foals
Good fun dancable band, which doesnt bore the **** out of me!
The Go! Team
Still get me going, truley an innovating sound whilst embracing pop rather then rejecting it all together, had they done this it would probably just be noise... its not! And they do a mean version
of Bull In The Heather
Joan As Policewoman
In its right appeals to the female audience more, but this is lovely music... she has got such a nice
voice and cutting lyrics, musically its soothing and touching.
M.I.A
She is a talent, tests her audience with unothordox dance music heavy on tribal influence
Maps
Nominted alongside powerhouse band Klaxons for the Mercury award, Maps offers a nice collection
of Shoegaze, his profile has skyrocketed the last couple of months.
Mystery Jets
I believe they are still desperatly break the british shores, shame that they may never reach their
full potential but for now here is a band with a good pop sense.
Patrick Wolf
Critcially acclaimed album at 17!!!! You gotta be ******** me, well I think his profile is the largest on
my list, 3 albums, 2 of which I love.... 1 I like. Alison has a crush on him
I could go on, but it's getting boring, I will upload a compilation though
