need help integrating A Seagate backup device(including Norton) with my reconfigured PC...

For a while, I unhooked my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex - which had pictures, favorites, and my Norton 360 security - from my 2007 Dell PC; I ran awhile without it and may have adware or a virus. It has more pictures, mostly the same favorites and no security suite. Is it possible to run the Nortonfrom the Seagate? Can all the data be integrated, then run the Norton and zap the malware?
