"I think a second independence referendum is inevitable," Salmond told the BBC, although he would not say when. Salmond resigned as leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and first minister of the devolved government in Edinburgh after Scots voted "no" to independence by 55 to 45 percent in September.
