NFL Chiefs fear Charles has torn knee ligament

Kansas City coach Andy Reid said Sunday that early indications were that running back Jamaal Charles tore a knee ligament in the Chiefs' 18-17 NFL loss to the Chicago Bears. Reid said it "looks like" Charles tore the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee with just over nine minutes to play in the third quarter. If tests confirm the diagnosis, Charles will sit out the rest of the season -- a massive blow for the team, and for a player who came back from a torn ACL in his left knee in 2011.
