(Reuters) - Retired NFL player Will Smith, who was killed over the weekend, was shot in the back eight times in New Orleans, WWL-TV reported on Wednesday, citing his lawyer. Smith had a fully loaded handgun in his car when he was shot dead by a motorist who had rammed his vehicle into the former football player's car, according to police. New Orleans police said that a fully loaded 9mm handgun had been recovered inside Smith's Mercedes and that there was no indication that the weapon had been fired during the incident.
