I'm ******! My towns out of money for schools. They are having a vote over if the can get money from Ohio to pay for school. It has been turned down THREE TIMESSS!!!! What does this mean for Marion Harding High School? No Art classes (starting this year, meaning I can't take art), no music classes, no Spanish (which I don't mind) and no Driver's Ed!!! More to that. All there'll be is History, Math, English, and Science!!!! So my question is, anyone else have the same problem with their school? Why must old people take away the fun stuff in school? WHY DO OLD PEOPLE WANT TO DESTROY US AAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

Oh, and we no longer have snow days (unless the law says "no one can leave the house") or 2 hour delays!!!!! **** THIS ****!!! Who else feels the pain from people who don't care?

Its becoming more and more common, which is sad. I was watching a show lately about how a senior track all-star in high school lost his scholarship because his school cut its sports programs due to lack of funding.

In Indiana, we are really getting screwed too. The state has decided to give the schools hardly any money for the next few years, but want to raise educational standards and requirements for graduation. But to do that effectivilly, the schools need MONEY! Gah! Because of that, my school has started to slowly cut extra classes, and we hardly have any to begin with. Schools are getting really frikked up.

Honestly, you should talk to your parents about going to another school close by, and pay tuition or something. Its not fair for your school to do that, it really isn't. Alot of kids at my school have done it because, if your a really smart person, you run out of classes to take after your junior year.

Our educational system is in terrible need of a major reform.

There's no way to go to another school. I just found out all the schools in my county and the one close by have the same problem. And smart? ROFL Not me dude.

The whole thing ****** me off. I'm droppin out as soon as I'm 16.

We've lost a ton of stuff too. Once I was going to apply for Lakes and Mountains Art Program (which required like 7 pieces). So when I got it all done they finally sent me a letter saying it was cancelled due to budget cuts. And like all our sports stuff is either payed for by the team, the coach, or major fund raising. And for driver's ed, 50 people get drawn out of a hat each semester. And even then, you have to pay. If you don't have driver's ed you have to wait longer to get your liscence too. The SCDOT offers a course, but it's like either $300 or $500!!! School systems suck these days.

I don't blame anyone for dropping out. I've found out a few years ago our school has a dirty little secret - they don't pay for anything besides academics and sports. Our art programs recieve little funding (my old art teacher spent hundreds of dollars on supplies) and the music programs recieve - NO FUNDING. This explains all those dang fundrasiers I am always doing for them. Schools are getting f***ed all over America with budget cuts and more expectations...like I said, we need reform!

I shneriously agree. Band and Choir programs are proven to actually have the better students on the academic ladder. The arts are important, and should never be discarded. When the American school systems have to start cutting back on necessary education like Driver's Ed, Art, and Music, something has to change. The more they cut stuff, the higher the dropout rate is going to become. Kids aren't going to go to school when they can't get a decent education.. :/

Totally. They are cutting way to much. To get into Tri-rivers (a high school to learn how to work right after school, I think) students need 14 credits. 7 for 9th and 10th grade. Students can't pull that off cuz now there are only 4 credits each year.l 8 man!

Well I'm sick of the bullshit in our ****** school! I'm hloding a pro-test! You guys should do the same. We should burn the schools down! (j/k) VH1 and MTV always have the Save the Music stuff, I think I have an idea!

Wow that really sucks o_0 You're really gonna miss out on a lot of things! I'm not american so I'm not really sure how your school systems work. We start college at different times and some subjects aren't the same or aren't compulsary. Oh, and we don't have drivers ed. You guys get TAUGHT to drive in school?! Anyway I totally agree with you. Why must they take the fun out of education?!?! Maybe you and a million other people there should send threatening letters to your uhh head of your state *Not sure what the name is* :D I wouldn't blame you for dropping out of school with those subjects lol. Keep your head up :)
