N.J. Governor Critical After SUV Crash

Friday April 13, 2007 5:16 PM

By GEOFF MULVIHILL - Associated Press Writer

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine was in critical
condition Friday but expected to recover after his SUV crashed into a
guard rail while heading to a meeting between Don Imus and the Rutgers
women's basketball team.

A spokesman for the governor said it appeared that Corzine was not
wearing a seatbelt during the crash, despite a state law requiring it
for front-seat passengers.

The crash on the Garden State Parkway broke the governor's leg, six
ribs, his sternum and fractured a vertebrae. Authorities were still
searching for a pickup truck driver whose actions were blamed for
causing it.

Another hypocrite politician claiming the laws don't apply to him.

Well ...leave it to your speedy eye to detect these transgressions of
Orwellian vehicular diktat.
You nailed that wayward sucker right quick.

Now what?
Blindfold at dawn or what?

PS: Are you from the socialist UK? They love and practice Orwell over
there.

Since when does SFB believe in blindfolds? That ****sucker believes in
blindfolds like it believes in speed limits.

SFB would be right at home over there.

Yes, but never deliberately. In fact i got a speeding ticket about 5

I think that violations of NJ's seat belt laws carry a hefty fine;
something on the order of $10.

In California, if the driver of a pickup has been caught after a hit and run, in
almost all cases he has been an illegal alien....AAC

The likelihood of an illegal immigrant being prosecuted is "to me,
practically zero," said Kathleen Walker, president-elect of the
American Immigration Lawyers Association.

And yet the illegals bitch about "their rights"? Thanks for
reminding us that we need to vote all of the traitors out of congress
that are allowing this ridiculous situation to continue....Iconoclast

Why are you a criminal coddler? When govt officials break laws, they
should get the max.

I hate all illegals but we don't know that's what this guy was. Plenty
of whites think H&R is cool.

And yet you continue to give Teddy 'hic' Kennedy a free pass. Why is

Reading the paper today, I surmise the H&R driver, who was caught, might very well
not be an illegal. He wasn't charged for leaving the scene. He was an employee at
one of the casinos.....AAC

He was not a hit and run driver. He didn't hit anything.

He also was not a "H&R" driver. He did not hit anything. It was
another vehicle avoiding his that hit Corzine's car.

Wouldn't the same "hit and run" law apply, though? A person can be at
fault in an accident without actually colliding with another vehicle,
such as the case where his vehicle runs another vehicle off the road to
where it wrecks.

In most states you have to know you caused the collision - which is hard
to know (but not impossible) when you're not actually involved in it and
it doesn't happen in front of you.
