This is a bunch of PC BS.

This doesn't mean the Federal Government promotes a religion...

Air Force Denies Request for Flyover at Christian Festival
A defense department official told FOX News the Air Force denied the request because it violates a Pentagon policy

.

An Idaho community had secured an Air Force flyover for its local festival every year for more than 40 years, organizers say, but this year, the Air Force turned the request down over the festival's religious focus.

The *** and Country Family Festival in Nampa, Idaho, applied to the Pentagon for the flyover but was denied in an e-mail, board member Patti Syme told KTBV. Syme said the e-mail from a defense official informed her the Pentagon prohibited support of special interest groups.

"The Air Force was in charge of the decision-making process, meaning neither the secretary of defense nor President Obama weighed in directly, the official said."

So what is the only difference between 40 years of "YES"......and now an out of the blue "NO"?

You don't know that's the only difference... that's the only obvious one, but there could be lots of other things that are different, too. Such as:

The person filling out the application/request didn't word things in the same way as it had been worded in the past (reference article for past and current event descriptions).

The current administrator interpretted the policy differently (possibly even correctly??) than past administrators.

It's a new form and someone checked the wrong box.

The church omitted the actual agenda in the past and represented the festival as "a patriotic event", rather than a religious event, and this time someone forgot to pad the truth.

Past administrators thought it sounded like a good time and ignored/reshaped policy.

I could probably come up with more.

Ya'll are starting to sound like a bunch of whiney Liberals :p

And your starting to sound like an excuse machine.

The only difference is the administration.

The simplest answer is more often than not the correct answer.

The Air Force salivates over being able to make public appearances. That's one of their main recruiting tools.

Maybe so... but sometimes the answer is a little more complicated than just blaming the current administration for every little glitch. (Isn't that what most of you have been saying for the past 8 years? "Not everything is Bush's fault.")

All of you b!tched and complained about Liberals blaming every little thing on the Bush Administration and now you're doing the same thing to the current administration.

Looks to me like "divide & conquer" is still the best stategy for keeping the animosity rolling.

Now who is looking for the shallow and fast answer without looking deeper?

I tell you what, name the 40 year tradition that suddenly was stopped when Bush took office.............

I did think it was unfair to blame Bush for some things, but I didn't object to them just from automatic kneejerk excuse making no matter what it was. I always looked behind the claims. For example I do not think it was fair to blame him for Katrina.....but it was his fault for not securing Iraq better at the beginning of the invasion that led to a lot of lost lives from IED's supplied from Iran.

So the question is, does a 40 year program that is suddenly stopped after Obama takes office make it look reasonable to assume he is responsible?

I say yes.

They don't want anyone bowing to special interest groups... unless of course, it's a special interest group they approve of. Then it's an outrage.

The tradition of carrying shampoo, toothpaste and hair gel in a container larger than 3 oz. aboard an aircraft while traveling. :p

I'm not defending anyone. I just think you all sound like the whiney babies you continually accuse liberals of being. Just my opinion.... you don't have to like it. ;)

Well it is petty to an extent. I don't blame the Obama admin I blame political correctness. It's getting worse by the day. Pretty soon we will be drones ordered to no laugh or have an opinion.

And that is the point, as long as we are more frozen by the fear of never offending people, we are also not being proactive, not really living either.

That is the biggest problem with being ruled by the need to be PC.
