Guest rcr_nz
We are in the process of migrating our University from Office 2007 to Office 2010. I've created new group policy objects for Office 2010 and migrated all our Office 2007 settings over. The Field Shading policy under 'Microsoft Word 2010/Word Options/Advanced' does not seem to be working, we normally have this set to Always and this works fine under Office 2007. I've confirmed that the policy is being applied and other settings are working as expected. I checked the admx file to see what registry setting this gpo should apply and can confirm that the the following key is being set: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\14.0\word\options\vpref] "grpfvisi_147_2"=dword:00000001 Was far as I can tell, using procmon, Word 2010 is reading these registy keys when it is run but seems to be ignoring them. We use field codes heavily because our bibliography/reference system uses them and having shading switched on stops users messing up their references unintentionally. Manaully changing the setting works but thats not ideal in a hotdesk lab environment. Continue reading...
