Opposition

Where is the opposition? I've always called Bender the devils advocate because in the past I didn't believe he believed in what he typed. The very day I joined GF he inspired me to present my opinion. He has a level head and is an informed man. As Phreakwars he kept going. I miss Phreakwars.

So where is he? Without rants can we get opposition to the board instead of back patting? Do we want that or are we content with the back slapping?

I think we need to get some kind of opposition here but I have no clue as to how we do it. I think we scare the opposition away without a clan to follow them. They need a force to reckon with us. As a suggestion maybe we should scout out a liberal board to correlate with us.

There seems to be about eight to ten regulars. Over half of them agree with me, the rest don't want to get involved in a debate.

I guess I could play devil's advocate on some issues, but I can't pretend to side against anything that I have said before.

I'm sure there are things we disagree on. Someone just needs to find the right hot topic, I guess.

But like RO said...it's hard to pretend to take another stance on a topic when people are already familiar with where you have stood on it before. And I'm sure the abortion, religion and political topics have been done to death so....I dunno.

Well bring on the debate! It's high time some of you fellows got slapped with the "irresponsible" label. My ****** grows weary of the stigma.

Jeez...I can't even remember what topics have been discussed and what haven't. Here are a few I was mulling over:

Spanking children - child abuse or not?

Divorce - why has it become such an acceptable practice, and even the norm, in our society?

Open marriages - morally unacceptable or an ingenious concept?

Respect - should it be given freely or is it something that is earned?

Anyway, those are just some thoughts I had.

Poor RO - I'll oppose you in a debate if you'd like. I don't know that I can best you, but I could probably hold my own for awhile. Pick a topic!
