I have searched in vain (Googled about a hundred pages of links) for a
way to specify the format used to display the messages I receive in
emails. Outlook 2007 has all kinds of formatting options for composing
new messages, outgoing message formats, etc., but I can find no way to
adjust the formatting of a new email when I open it to read it.
I know there is an option to read an email using the browser, where I
can then use CSS and so on, but that is lame -- literally, I cannot read
messages in batches, have to switch back and forth from Outlook to IE,
and so on. It works but it is clunky. If I select a message and then act like
I wanty to reply to it, I can then use my own choices for formatting, but again,
that is a pitiful kluge.
Is there any way to specify the format that Outlook uses to display a
newly received HTML or RTF email, so that when I open iot I can read the
darned thing immediately using exactly the style, font, text size, text
colors and so on I need? The only other option I have is to copy every
new message to another program where it is legible so that I can decipher
the frequently unusually small text or almost-invisibly-light font color
schemes, or else open each message individually then select to view it in the browser.

As you may have guessed, I am using my older eyes to read what many
other younger folk may consider to be acceptable readable text. I even
tried using the enhanced display options in Windows itself, that provide
high contrast and magnification and so on, but those are far too
extreme.
Is there any way to specify a template to be used to display a new
received message when I open it to read or preview? That would work
fine for what I need. Again, this is only an issue for me when reading
messages I receive, I am well able to use all the formatting and such
for outgoing messages, new message composing, replies etc.
As a last resort, is there any external 3rd party addin or util for doing this?
