Outlook 2010 cannot connect to outgoing e-mail server - POP account

I am using Outlook 2010 and am trying to configure my work email without success. I have successfully added my gmail account but can not add my work email. It is a POP account and the incoming server is pop. and the outgoing mail server is mail. Is this an Outlook problem? I am on Windows 7 and am the only one on my team having a problem.

Error Message: Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your

outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact

your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
