Hello,

I am migrating from Windows XP Outlook 2007 to Windows 7 Outlook 2010. I have the pst files for my POP3 and IMAP account along with the archive.pst file. Since the latter is quite large, I wanted to manage my data more intelligently within Outlook 2010. I have two questions:

1) Can I move archived items (mail/notes/contacts/calendar) manually to a new data file with the "move" command or will this cause problems?

2) Once I fill an archive.pst file, I wanted to rename it to archive2011.pst or something and then leave it connected to Outlook for searching/indexing. Can I do this with just disconnecting the old archive file, renaming and reconnecting? Will the data file contents be visible within the Outlook folder pane for searching?
