Padres name Murphy as season interim manager

Pat Murphy, who has spent parts of the past three seasons managing San Diego's top development club, has been named interim manager of the Padres for the remainder of the season, the Major League Baseball club announced Tuesday. The move came a day after the Padres fired Bud Black as manager following a 32-33 start under the 2010 National League Manager of the Year.
