Carolina quarterback Cam Newton was being evaluated for a concussion after being knocked out in the Panthers' 48-33 NFL loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Newton took a goal-line hit on a two-point conversion attempt. As he slowed before reaching the goal-line, Falcons rookie linebacker Deion Jones barrelled into the star signal-caller, who had connected with wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin on six-yard touchdown pass on the previous play.
