[Peterdea]

I wouldn't normally share these like this, I'm not really confident as a writer, and there's always so much pressure on me to write so a lot of what I do is a mess. Especially when I write at school. But there are a few I've either written form scratch and not edited at all or put a lot of thought into, and I'm going to post those here rather then in my journal. Hope you like them, but if not, fair enough, I can see why.

I'll put little stories or whatever in italics at each one.

My cousins Timmy and Jack and I wrote a draft for this song and in the end I got sick of the bad lyrics and wanted to change them. I used a situation with someone that used to be my friend as motivation to write and it spilled out in a matter of seconds. I personally think it's a bad song and even though these lyrics are a step up from the old, I am still not thrilled with them.

Some of you may know that there's a lot of problems in my life when it comes to my friends. They turn on me all the time, and I always end up really fuming. This song came from one of those times in particular, where rage took over and the result was this. I like this one because it helped me destroy a lot of rage inside me.

This one really came out of a lot of things. I came to realize that I did nothing but drag a certain good friend of mine down, and It made me mad how they would always stay with me, no matter how bad the stuff I did happened to be. That's the main thing behind it, the rest are what adds the aggression to it. I like this one better then the first two by a lot.

ARE THINGS BETTER UP THERE? (DEDICATED TO)

My friends mum passed away earlier this week and I felt horrible. I only found out today and the story that went with it brought a tear to my eye. This kid is amazing, one of the nicest, trustworthy people you'll ever meet. He's had a very hard life as it is and now something like this goes on and happens. This is what came from both my feelings from that, and a little tiny bit from bottled emotions from when my nan died earlier this year.

Nightmares

This one is simply about my nightmares that have messed me up but good in recent months. It's really horrible but at least I got some motivation out of it I guess. This song sucks though, I just figured I'd post it anyway.

I Need You

I woke up after the most depressing dream at about 3:40 this afternoon and for once I could remember my dream. Sad as **** but not really something to be discussed here. But it totally made me wanna write a song, and this came out. I mixed in something else I'd been planning to make a song out of into it, but it still fits in I think. Does it stand out?

I like 'I need you.' To start I thought, 'ah here we go, more soppy melodramatic love songs and associated angst, blah-blah' but surprisingly wasn't til I got to that;

back before that man in black closed your lid,

I was like 'woah, okay, I thing I had this all wrong!' and I actually appreciated it more because it wasn't about what I had first assumed, at least to me the perception had changed. I like that. A smack in the face but a good one. If that makes any sense... hope it does. Was just clever. And if accidental then a clever accident. I liked it.

Yes they were standouts - and you don't have to please anyone. Always a little ego-boost when you do, but really writing's cathartic for your soul, no one elses (especially poetry).If someone else connects even better. If they don't, no great loss. Just consider yourself fortunate enough to be able to negate your way through your emotions where others struggle and give them a voice.

Unprepared

I have always been fascinated by war, and a lot of you know I'm not one of those proud Australians. But mix war with Australia, the main stories that come up are the Somme, Kokoda and the most famous Gallipoli. The ANZACs are the one thing that I can say makes me proud to be here and so I wrote this about Gallipoli.
