Printer companies

WTF is the deal with the home printer scams. I went to get some ink for my 6 month old lexmark printer and the 2 cartridges were $66.00. So I look at the printers sitting next to the ink and bought a lexmark copier/printer/photo printer for $55.00. Now the 6 mo printer is in the trash. Do the printer companies make more profit on new printers than the ink or something?

So much for conserving resources.

Printer companies rely on cheap bastards like you who "JUST WANT A PRINTER THAT WORKS".

They know they can sell you a model for under $100 that will make THEM even bigger profits in refills.

I own a high end Canon printer... cost of refills... less then $10 ($6.99) on CANON ink, not generic..

Buyer beware ??

I rarely use the printer. The ink would dry up before i ran out of ink. I guess i need to start charging a certain 14yo girl a $1.00 a page.

Yeah I know just what you mean. They are made to only last a few years at best. I was tired of HP so I just bought a Epson. It loads the paper from the top so I hope there isn't to much jamming like my old HP. I copied some pictures and I have already run the ink down to nothing. I printed about 10 pages. This piece of **** takes 6 cartridges. Checking the price on line its' about $20 a cartridge. I know the cartridges that came with the printer have less ink in them but when I do buy the high volume cartridges, it's gonna cost me $120. I'm ******!

with it being a Lexmark, you'll be lucky if the printer last the life of your current ink cartridges...

I had a Lexmark at one time. It got in a fight with my Ruger .9mm, the gun won. Believe it or not.

I've been accused of being a frugal *******, but there are a few things that I do not skimp on. They are; toilet paper, steak, vehicles, and computer hardware, my printer is no exception.

I spent $180 on this Epson printer. That's after the $50 instant rebate. How much should I spend? I don't need an office printer. **** that.

The new one is a lexmarkx2470. It has 1 cartridge and it is $28.00. I print recipes and the occasional article from my camaro website so as long as i can read it i don't care. The 2 copies i made just to check it out look good.

LOL. I wish. I would love to stay at home and do the housework but the " old lady" doesn't make enough.
I just wondered because you said you printed up recipes.

Where do you like to find yours by the way?

I like recipezaar. They have a rating system so you get an idea of how good the recipe will come out. And most of the time people leave comments about what changes if any they made to the recipe to improve the dish.
