A well-meaning friend uninstalled a Windows file from my C/drive...thinking it was obsolete....now Word and Excel don't open/work at all, and the icon has changed to a file symbol.
I can't find this uninstalled file to re-install it. ..or be sure what it was called. I haven't deleted or emptied the recycle bin....the Properties dialogue box on Word & Excel icons shows no file source which is worrying.I'm not even sure it was Word 2000...but suspect it was...
The service pack 3 & all other additions are all still there in C/drive.
I'm no expert....is there a way to make my computer locate what's missing? I've searched the index and can't find it or be confident I'd recognise it. System restore didn't fix the problem either...maybe it's gone to heaven?...
any suggestions? soothing kisses to all out there with problems. E
