Prosecutors in ex-NFL star's murder trial to call final witness

(Reuters) - Prosecutors in the murder trial of former New England Patriots football player Aaron Hernandez are expected to rest their case on Thursday, after calling a medical examiner to the stand as their final witness. Hernandez, 25, has been on trial since late January on murder and firearms charges in the killing of Odin Lloyd, a semiprofessional football player who was dating his fiancee's sister. Prosecutors say Hernandez and two friends, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, shot Lloyd to death in an industrial park near Hernandez's house in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, on June 17, 2013, after Hernandez and Lloyd had a disagreement at a night club two nights before. On Wednesday, Alexander Bradley, a former friend of Hernandez who sued the former tight end for shooting him in the face in a separate incident, testified that he saw Hernandez handling what appeared to be a Glock handgun in a Florida hotel room in February 2013.
