Quarashi is a rapmetal band, sometimes pretty similar to LP. They started sometime in 1995 or something in a garage in the West part of Reykjavik, Iceland. They started as a regular rap band, but soon brought in rock. Most songs are a hybrid of rock and rap, like LP, but they don't sing that much. They sing a bit, but mostly they only rap.
Maybe you haven't heard this name, their popularity is the biggest in Australia and Japan. They've had some success in America though, their song Stick 'em up has been played on Boston Public, The fast and the furious, The OC and many more.
Their name Quarashi comes from Mohammed, the man who started the Islamic religion when he had a vision from Allah. Mohammed's last name was Quarashi.
Their album 'Jinx' was released in the US in 2002. Stick 'em up, Weirdo and Mr. Jinx were played on MTV a bit, dunno if you saw them.
I've noticed that Jinx is very similar to an LP album. They've got their rap/rock songs for most the most part, but the last song on the album is an instrumental, just like LP have Session and CFTI. Then they've got a mellow song, just like Numb or BTH, called Dive in.
