Guest Kickin' Ass and Takin' Names

George Bush is about to start WW III on the basis of some fool with a

maritime radio who pops up on shipping channels in the Strait of

Hormuz and who is well-known to everyone.

Threatening comments heard at the end of a Pentagon-released audio

recording designed to prove harassing maneuvers by Iranian patrol

boats in the Strait of Hormuz may have come from a local heckler known

as the "Filipino Monkey," The Navy Times reported.

The 36-minute video aired Friday included footage of Iranian boats

following the US ships at some distance.

It includes a shot of a dark object floating in the water, but it

could not be determined whether this was one of the box-like objects

that the Pentagon claims were dumped in the path of a US warship by

two speedboats.

The videotape did not include a previously released audiotape of a

threat to blow up the ships made in a radio transmission that the

Pentagon says was received during the incident.

A voice on the audiotape is heard to say in accented English: "I am

coming to you ... You will explode in a few minutes."

Pentagon officials now say they do not know the source of the radio

transmission, backing off a previous claim that it came from one of

the boats.

The Times said Friday the voice in the audio sounded different from

the one belonging to an Iranian officer shown speaking to the cruiser

Port Royal over a radio from a small boat in the video released by

Iranian authorities.

That is why several Navy experts interviewed by The Times are raising

the possibility that a heckler known in the region as the "Filipino

Monkey," or an imitator, could be behind the threats.

"Filipino Monkey," who is likely more than one person, listens in on

ship-to-ship radio traffic and then jumps on the net shouting insults

and vile epithets, the report said.

US Navy women who are overheard on the radio are said to suffer

particularly degrading treatment, the paper said.

A civilian mariner with experience in that region said the "Filipino

Monkey" phenomenon is worldwide, but it is more likely to occur around

the Strait of Hormuz because there is a lot of shipping traffic there,

The Times said.

How come you dislike Bush more than you dislike sworn enemies of the

US? Does the radio transmission mean that Iranian boats didn't

approach US warships? Iran supports terrorism. Iran supports

Hezbollah. Iran has been involved in the deaths of our soldiers.

Iran has threatened the only democracy in the Middle East and they

threaten to push Jews into the sea. They have their fingers in

Lebanon.

And here you are attacking Bush, who was elected. You hate the

United States.

Regardless of what Dick Cheney has told you questioning the

administration does not equate to hating America.

By all means, question the administration. Just don't forget which

team you're on.

Those are Iranian waters, no? Why don't they have business being there? If

Iranian carrier groups were off Virginia, you saying we wouldn't have any

business sending out ships to investigate?

So does the USA. Reagan supported at least three terrorist groups. So what?

Iran supports

Proof?

Guest The corpse of Reagan as a doorstop

As we speak, the Iranians are building an unstoppable war machine of

speed boats, VW vans, and kites. No wonder Bush's administration is

terrified.

You may have meant this as a joke. It's not. A swarm of 30 foot

speedboats doing 70 knots is really cheap by naval standards and highly

lethal. When it suits them, Iran will bottle up the US fleet in the Gulf.

That's the Persian, i.e., Iranian, Gulf.

We have a right to be there according to United Nations Convention on

the Law of the Sea. What's to investigate? It is common knowledge to

everybody in the Middle East that we are in a war and that we have

warships nearby. If somebody put ships off the coast of Virginia they

would be told to leave and then destroyed if they do not obey. Please

try to not compare Iran to the United States as if we are equals, I

don't like that. They were doing two things: seeing how close they

could get without being fired on, and trying to intimidate the Navy.

Yes, he did. "So what?" is glib and not worthy of my time.

Beirut, 1983. France took military action against Iranian

Revolutionary Guard positions after two sets of barracks were

attacked, one American, one French. 241 American service members were

killed in the attacks. Iranians have been captured inside Iraq after

attacking US soldiers, and others have confessed that they were

working on Iran's behalf.

I'm sure the People of Iran are nice, but the state of Iran is your

enemy and they have gone out of their way to make that clear. We help

them anyway, as we did when they had the massive earthquake. But,

people hate Bush so much that they can't see the larger picture. It

is not America's job to take one iota of BS from a country that kills

our troops and supports terrorism.
