Rap or Rock

Ok well I was researching Shinedown's song 45. MTV didn't put their video on air. This message is from the singer of Shinedown.

And I said, "Jay-Z has '99 Problems' and you don't have a problem showing him getting shot on your network; I don't see why you have a problem with me saying I'm staring down the barrel of a .45, even though the fact is, I'm not even talking about an actual gun.”

 

Now I read this and I have to agree with Brent. MTV is being a little bias if you ask me. Now personally I dislike Rap, but Hip-Hop or R&B are ok. It does get me upset that some artist (and I mean rappers) are getting away with certain things. I remember watching a Lil Wayne video (i RREEAALLYY hate the guy) and it shows a girl on top of him with only her underwear. Well the next day I saw the same video but this time, the girl that was on top of him had a blur on her butt (MTV blurred it out).

 

I started to ask some friends of minds if they prefer rap or rock. Of all of them, I got like 5 people who prefer rap. Now this is a dumb question but which would you prefer?

 

 

Me, of course it's gonna be Rock. Rap just doesn't suit too well.

dang i prefer both.Rap and Rock together would be very nice,though Jay-Z and Linkin Park playing together is ok ok only.

I prefer rock over everything, but some rap is good. Eminem and...uh...wait, never mind, just him. I don't mind most hiphop, but there's not much I really like.

 

And I also agree about Lil Wayne, Sponge. But, he gives people with semi-decent voices like myself hope - "If that croaky SOB can get famous, hot damn, I'm all set!"

Hmm it's cool. But with Hip-Hop I'd say Fort Minor and Kanye. Those are the only two I like. And with Eminem he's funny. Maybe some Cypress HIll....maybe idk. I like only three songs of them. But maybe I like em cuz they're hespanic. LOL

 

And yes Linkin_lp_park....porn is bad. And they say the internet is for porn LOL.

on topic, i listen to both if you count Fort Minor, SOB, Eminem, D12 as rap that is, preffer rock though. just thought id add my 2 cents worth

Both. Though should I be forced at gunpoint to choose I'd swing more heavily towards rock, and I don't mean mainstream angst-ridden can't find my place in life BS, I mean hardcore throaty screaming til your red in the face, fist in the air, aggressive rock, absolutely, 110% and counting.

But for this poll I'll be ambivalent and go both.

I do afterall have everything from The Executioners and D12, Ice Cube etc to Sepultura etc in my general CD collection. Also classical (Orff kicks ass)

I'm more of a rock girl, cos as you can clearly see, I love Jack White's rock/blue grass guitar work.

I am definitely towards rock...especially grunge but hard rock also....Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Korn, God Smack, Led Zepplin, Blink-182...if its rock I will usually listen to it (excepet any kinda of metalcore, hardcore, some metal, emo)
