I. INTRODUCTION
Rare Commons (hereafter “Rare Commons”; “RC”) is a website dedicated to the distribution of audio and video recordings of Linkin Park concerts (hereafter “bootlegs”). The site’s bootlegs will be provided by a group of persons who swap bootlegs with other persons on a regular basis (hereafter “traders”). The site itself will be operated by a group of persons outside of the traders group who will catalog and upload the bootlegs provided by the traders for public distribution (hereafter “sharers”).
II. METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION
The bootlegs provided by the traders to the sharers for RC may be distributed through the following methods listed below:
Hypertext Transfer Protocol
File Transfer Protocol
Other protocols (including, but not limited to: P2P, BitTorrent) may NOT be used for RC bootleg distribution under ANY circumstances.
III. SOURCE SUBMISSION AND RECYCLING
The traders will provide on a weekly basis a minimum of three (3) audio bootlegs and, on a monthly basis, one (1) video bootleg. The video bootleg provided will be uploaded by the sharers to RC for public distribution. The audio bootlegs will be sorted based on the traders’ classifications. Each audio bootleg provided must be labeled as either “rare” or “common”. A minimum of two (2) “common” bootlegs must be provided (unless an exception for that week is allowed by the sharers), and a minimum of one (1) “rare” bootleg must be provided.
“Common” audio shows will be placed in the common audio pool and recycled on a regular basis and drawn at random for upload. As such, one common show may go up for public distribution multiple times.
“Rare” audio shows, after their first posting, will be placed in the common audio pool, but will not be eligible for download again for another 3 months.
Video shows, after their first posting, will be placed in the video pool, but will not be eligible for download again for another 3 months.
IV. CONTENT LIMITS
Up to two (2) “common” bootlegs may be uploaded for public distribution every week. At the end of the week, those two bootlegs will be removed and two other “common” bootlegs will be uploaded.
Up to one (1) “rare” bootleg may be uploaded for public distribution every three (3) weeks. At the end of the third week, the bootleg will be removed and another “rare” bootleg will be uploaded. The removed bootleg will then be placed in the “common” audio pool.
Up to one (1) video bootleg may be uploaded for public distribution every month. At the end of the month, the bootleg will be removed and another video bootleg will be uploaded.
V. DOCUMENTATION OF SOURCES
If a trader wishes to withhold their identity when submitting a specific bootleg, they must specify this when submitting the bootleg for upload. If there is no specification as to the anonymity of the bootleg’s source, the sharers will, by default, display that bootleg’s source on the site. An internal log of sources will be maintained by the sharers for documentation purposes; this log will not be publicly viewable at any time and will not be stored on the RC website or server(s) in any fashion
