Realistic Thoughts on Solutions for the Worldwide Muslim Terrorist Problem

Hi.

I would like to invite some people to post some serious and well thought out points as to how to solve the current worldwide crisis of Muslim based Terrorism and oppression. I'd like to really have a good solid discussion. Please don't just rant and rave, but use your brain power. Form an argument, give the explanation of your plan, and project the outcomes. This could be a fantastic opportunity for those of us who wish to participate, to really put on our thinking caps and chew on this problem. Who knows, maybe some government official might somehow get wind of our thought process and take a few notes!

I'll start.

I don't believe that waging a nuclear based, or even a military based war against Mecca, Medina, or any other holy Islamic site, would do anything other than to incite 1.7 billion (yes, that's BILLION) worldwide Muslims. It would not cause them to stop, and in fact, I believe that it would cause unparallel rise in worldwide Muslim based violence. I truly believe that such a stupid action on our part would reduce the world into World War III, with no hopes for a reasonable solution.

So what do I propose? Hmm.

Well, my initial efforts would have to be localized in this country because that is where we have authority to act. So here's my initial plan. I'll revise it as time and other input direct.

My first proposal is this.

1. A United States Government Issued U.S. Citizen Identity Card. Every U.S. Citizen would be required to obtain a Citizens Identity Card which would be issued by the U.S. Government. It should be digital in nature with not only your photo and birth and/or naturalization information, but also your physical description, identifying marks, and a digital encoding of your fingerprints and retinal scan. This would make it so easy for law enforcement to verify who you are by simply swiping the card, and having you press your thumb to a digital reader (just like most of us do in the Department of Motor Vehicles anyway right now). It should be made in such a way as to eliminate the possibility of counterfeiting one. It should be required under law, that you must have it on you at all times and upon demand by law enforcement, you must use it to establish your identity. Failure to do so would result in immediate arrest and detention in a jail without potential for bail, pending a rapid investigation as to if the suspect actually has one or not. Those who have an identity card, but failed to carry it, should be interviewed, severely fined (payment required before release, or paid public work projects while under custody), and released. Those who do not have an identity card, should be immediately handed over to the Department of Homeland Security for interrogation and eventual deportation from the United States.

The sole purpose of this card, would be to root out those who do not legally belong here. Plain and simple. I feel that our enemy hides in the shadows of our ignorance of their existence here. I would stop that immediately.

I would propose that you were required to present this ID when opening a bank account, writing a check, registering a vehicle, obtaining an occupational license, attending flight training of any kind, purchasing a gun/rifle/weapon of any kind, registering for both public and private schools of any kind, admission to a hospital, opening of a credit card or credit line, initiating utilities service, obtaining a mortgage, renting an apartment or commercial space or storage space of any kind, renting a vehicle or heavy equipment of any kind, flying on an airplane, taking a train, sailing on a cruise, and especially upon entry and exit to the United States of America. I'm sure there are more instances but you get the point.

THIS WOULD PUT A CHOKE HOLD ON THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROBLEM AND THE INCREDIBLE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE WHO ENTER THE U.S. ON "VISAS", ONLY TO DISAPPEAR WITHOUT A TRACE. IT'S STAGGERING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE AND ARE DOING THIS.

Personally, I would be first in line for this ID. I would want to clearly identify myself as an American Citizen. I have nothing to hide. I feel that every law abiding citizen would agree.

Once other nations saw the effectiveness of this, I believe that they would in turn create their own National ID as well. Currently, France is debating this option!

We MUST find a way to identify the enemy within. To extricate it, and remove it's ability to move virtually undetected in and among our society.

This would be my first step against Terrorists.

However, I (as a devout Christian - can you believe that?) would never accept a national identity card like that. That's the first step towards the mark of the beast. Dontcha just love these paradoxes? We want to do what's best as long as we don't violate our religion, whereas we don't care what it takes to violate others...

Funny. You already have a Social Security Card. If you want to drive, you have to get a drivers license. Why not consolodate all of the id's you already have to have in the country into one complete card?

RO, This "ID" system of yours would not work for the simple reason that those who would perform acts of terrorism would simply register themselves correctly, roam about freely and then create their mayhem.

Even if we (the USA) stopped giving out visas like chewing gum and only 1 in 10,000 muslim applicants actually recieved a visa, Al Queda would simply apply 10,001 mujahadeen.

I don't think a this is the answer.

MRIH,

I really don't exactly see how they could just "apply & roam". That's obviously not the scenario I was painting. But, let's work this one out for a second or two.

You couldn't be saying that we simply round up all people of Arabic and Middle Eastern descent, and either intern them or deport them regardless of their citizenship status, or innoccence are you?

National Identity cards would be the very backbone of your personal identification. You couldn't complete any transaction in a bank without it. This would be a powerful tool in locating and removing illegal alien influence among us.

So if you don't think so, give me your ideas!

No, what I'm saying is the terrorist applies for and recieves a visa. With that visa he/she gets their "ID" card. They buy and sell, do all of these legal transaction and wait for their "go" signal from Osama. Nothing changes.

This sounds like a good idea to combat illegal imigration but not terrorism.

That whole card would choke are freedoms to death. not only would it cost a buut load we the people would say no to it. the minute some one tells me to carry somethign with me at all time under penalty of law, swift rebellion will follow.(hopefully leading to the rise of the south agian).

I disagree.

The 9-11 hijackers are an extreme example. By showing their willingness to die for Allah

A Christian with a Bible is a nuisance to your comfortable level of non-belief. And a Christian with a brain cannot be as easily dismissed as you might be accustomed to. But a Christian with both is a dangerous thing.
