David Ortiz smashed a home run and Japan's Koji Uehara secured his 10th save of the season Monday, lifting Boston over Atlanta 8-6 to snap a 10-game losing streak. The reigning World Series champion Red Sox avoided matching the 1986 Kansas City Royals and 1998 Florida Marlins as the only clubs to lose 11 games in a row in the season after claiming the Major League Baseball crown. Boston trailed the Braves 6-1 after four innings and Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz walking a career-high eight batters, but the visitors rallied as Ortiz drove in four runs, including the eventual game winner in the top of the seventh inning.
