Remote Desktop Copy files is failing.

I am trying to copy files from a remote machine to my local PC running XP Pro. I have a mapped drive which points to shared folder on my machine. I then tick this drive in the resources section of the RDP connection settings. This process has worked fine for years but has recently begun to fail.
The copy starts but RDP reports that the file already exists, even though it is new. It then asks me if I want to replace the file. If I attempt to replace RDP reports that the file cannot be overwritten, if I try to delete the file locally, windows reports the file is in use. Closing RDP releases the file.

The only option I have is to copy to new file which appears to work but I end up with two files on my local PC. The first file remains open until I close the RDP session.
