Hopefully some will learn... Once you get outside the LP trading community' date=' all that info gets pretty important.[/quote']
Rofl, are you saying people in the LP trading community don't care about high-quality bootlegs?

In a nutshell, yeah. I can't say the whole community is like that, but for the most part lossless formats (both audio and video) are traded at a fraction of the rate their lossy counterparts are. The fact of the matter is that most people are concerned with quantity first, then quality. I guess it just comes down to what you're used to and prefer.

(And don't even get me started on trying to obtain correct lineage on some of the shows.)

Personally, I think it stems from the 'young' fan base that LP has. Most have grown up with downloading mp3s and mpeg files whereas I began trading in formats such as cassette and VHS and have since moved on to CD and DVD in both hard copies (actual tapes, CDs, etc) to torrents and FTP transfers.

There are plenty of sites out there which offer high quality (lossless) downloads. It's scary that there are very few, if any LP bootlegs out there in circulation outside of the LP trading community. I see dozens of lists every week and I've onely encountered a few that had more than a handful of LP shows and most were the 'common' ones - RaR 04, RaR 01, etc.

Do I have a point? Not really. I don't actually think many people will read this or even care.... :p
