Rotellla oil causing metal shavings or premature motor wear!?!?

I've been running it in my motor side for about two years and haven't seen any problems. I tried it in the tranny side, but the clutch would screech when i took off, so I switched back to the honda red bottle.

sounds like it's causing some issues for people on the tranny side. I think i'll switch over to red bottle to possibly avoid some of these issues in the future.

I ran the factory clutch in mine up until January. Sure the oil was gray but the fibers still looked new and are still within spec. That's been years of hammer down dunes, lots of trails and everything in between. Now its a back up clutch in my bag. Trans gears have always looked perfect upon every teardown I've have. I actually made a switch from the red bottle after seeing excessive wear on the gear teeth. Two years+ at 80hp+ and still great. I see no issues directly caused by running rotella in the transmission side.

Is the chatbox not working?
in the future send this to an admin, don't come into my thread and post some stupid question like that. You've posted several times in this thread without the basic criteria that i asked for. "EXPERIENCE with Rotella". You would never run it, that's fine, we don't care.....again i'm wanting real world experience, don't need you beefing up your post count at my expense, lol.

with love,

~Ryan

Whoa whoa whoa. I'll admit I put an opinion where an opinion doesn't need to be. Misunderstood the thread/thought I was in another post.

If anything I was trying to keep your thread clean and on point with the chatbox comment..

forgive me, i misunderstood your comment. i can see now that you were asking if the chatbox was working because of the few comments previous that were trolling comments, you were basically saying, take that stuff to the chat box. I get it now, sorry for snapping.

It's been in both sides of my quads. The 07 had a crank bearing fail, but I think that was the junk hotrods bearings I put in there. No problem other then that.

I also run it in the right side with the rekluses, make sure to stay with the white bottle not the blue bottle. The rekluse did not like the blue bottle.

I changes both sides after each ride also.

Yet to see any issues with Rotella T oil. In my opinion it doesn't break down like other oils, and has cut down on gear wear especially in the 06+ bikes.

Exactly what my experience has been especially in the trans. Thanks for your opinion Morgan.

^^^thanks for all the opinions guys!!! I'll continue to run this gravy, it's always good to hear reputable builders/riders input on oil with high output machines having no issues.
