Safe Music Downloads?

Does anyone know where I can get music downloads safely, and for free? I've tried bearshare, ares, & kazaa, but they all give me spyware. Spyware is BAD!

Oh yeah......that's right. I'm sorry. I forgot about that. The thing is with that, you have to build your "share ratio" to a certain point before they can allow you to invite somebody. It's a way of protecting the the server from overworking. I haven't reached that point yet with Oink. I mainly use Soulseek.

i use soulsleek.....it is good for getting other stuff thats not as mainstream

..i use limewire too..i think its pretty spiffy

Ares does come with spyware, but during installation you can just uncheck the extra boxes and then you're only get Ares. Kazaa is siht. There are 5+ versions of Kazaa with no spyware or ad-ware, but I still don't reccomend it for music.

Ares is great(but un-check those boxes). Limewire is almost the same thing as Bearshare, it connects to the exact same network that Bearshare connects to but doesn't contain any spyware.

Soulseek is the end all be all program for downloading music. Its been designed and developed for mp3's. There are little to no fakes on the network.

i use soulseek, it's really good, pretty quick (if you got the speed yourself) and almost everything i've got is what is what it says it is, and i don't have spyware or anything from it
