San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith arrested for DUI: police

(Reuters) - San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has been arrested in Northern California for driving under the influence, hit-and-run and vandalism in the former Pro Bowl player's latest run-in with authorities, police said on Friday. The Santa Clara Police Department said on Twitter that Smith, 25, was arrested on Thursday night in the town south of San Francisco. Smith, who is in training camp preparing for the 49ers' upcoming season, was suspended for nine games last year because of another driving-under-the-influence case.
