Well my son got me Sarah Palin's book Going Rouge and although I'm not an advote reader I'm starting it. My son addressed the present to "The Great Republican". Yeah he's a smart ass.

Anyway I'm only on chapter 5 so don't hold your breath to how it ends. It's gonna take me awhile...

Well it starts out pretty cool. It's all about Alaska and it brings back a flood of memories for myself. This women is speaking from the heart and she was more of a sourdough than me that's for sure.

Uhh no

Going Rogue,? the newly released memoir by Sarah Palin, the former Alaskan governor and Republican nominee for vice president, sold 469,000 copies in its first week of release, according to sales figures released Wednesday by Nielsen BookScan. That made ?Going Rogue? the top-selling book of the week on Nielsen BookScan?s chart, putting it ahead of new releases from authors like James Patterson (whose novel ?I, Alex Cross? was No. 2) and Stephen King (whose novel ?Under the Dome? placed at No. 3), as well as Dan Brown?s best-selling potboiler ?The Lost Symbol.? The book will also make its debut at No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list for nonfiction on Dec. 6.

I think your son might be the only one to buy her book... I saw it advertised on TV the other night for $4.95 :p

I'm guessing it hasn't made any best sellers lists if they're just about giving it away already.

Let's compare, Sarah Palin's book sells nearly $500,000 books in the first week.

Nancy Pelosi's autobiography released in 2008, at the supposed height of the Democrat's rise to power, sells 2,737 copies in it's first week.

Keep laughing and making jokes.

Actually if you include the sales to mass market retailers like Wal-Mart, Sarah sold 700,000 books in the first week. The Nielsen BookScan does not track those sales.

And let's not compare Sarah to other female ploiticians like Hillary Clinton, Hillary even had a sex scandle with her husband to drive her sales. Sarah smoked even Hillary, I believe you could call that making the best sellers list, lol.

I understand why Liberals would be scared of Sarah in general because she really is "of the people" while they just pretend to care about the little guy but the thing that has always surprised me is the raw anger and hate most liberal women show Sarah.

You would think a smart, successful, and moral woman who has shown that you can be strong and still remain feminine in life would be admired by all women even if they did not agree with all of her political stands but that just is not the case. Every Liberal women's groups have come out against Sarah with pure attacks and even say if she would have been elected into office as the Vice-President, it would be a massive step backwards for all women around the word....

Really?

A step backwards?

How do they figure that?

It seems to me the only way a woman is considered a "good" woman to a Liberal woman is if that first woman is willing to kill babies in the womb. Everything else does not matter from the looks of things.

At least they can read, the average Democrat voter can't.

;)

That is made clear by Pelosi's book sales.

Hopefully, those photos of Sarah without makeup will sink her political ambitions.

I thought you wanted a third Independent party hugo. She might not be the one to run it but she could defiantly help it get off the ground.

Palin is a lot more conservative than 99% of the people currently in office. I would support her or anyone like her in a heart beat.

The problem with the independants is they are too far detached from reality to ever offer a National canidate. They can have local support sure, but that is the end of their ability. Independants should be supporting real conservatives, did you know most independants supported Obama? A massive number of libertarians supported Obama, not just with votes but they were very vocal in their support of him.

With independants like that, nobody will ever take them seriously on the big stage.

Ohhh so that's why hugo voted for Obama.

Yeah but it would be nice to get a really conservative movement up and running.

Palin's record is more liberal than GW Bush's was when he was governor of Texas. In 2000 conservative Republicans voted overwhelmingly for GW and we ended up with 8 years of reckless spending and government growth. I'll vote for someone in 2012 who believes in limited government. That ain't Palin.

I ain't even talking about independents. There are Republicans that actually believe in limited government and are not simply political opportunists jumping on the bandwagon, ie Sarah Palin. Y'all gonna vote for a commie just cuz she's cute with her makeup on.

I nominate Dr. Rand Paul for GOP Presidential candidate in 2012.

I'll second that.

Sarah is not for big Government, she has been the very picture of conservative values and a lifetime of fighting establishment.

Hugo is stuck on the sale of oil from Alaska to the big oil companies and the people benefitting from that sale as somehow bad. My question is, who owns the oil? Politicians in office or the people of Alaska? Politicians come and go, while the people are still there paying the price for the decisions made by those politicians.

Wasn't Rand Paul connected to people with very racist attitudes and such? I believe I read something about that somewhere. His associations will bite him in the azz when running for public office.

He will most likely end up in a bathroom tapping someone's foot, lol.

My point about being willing to vote for Sarah is she is one of the very few honest people who has demonstrated real conservative values. Say what you want Hugo, she would never put forth legislation like the Bush amnesty attempt.

The question should not be who is the most strict conservative, because we have to be able to get that person into office and there is no way that will ever happen without a certain level of popular acceptance.

Obama won his election not because of his technical knowledge of government, or politics, or even science, but instead by showing a master's manipulation of public opinion.

As I said before, the vast majority of independants voted for Obama, but these same independants mostly preach conservative values and smaller Government so you tell me Hugo, why did these groups vote for someone who does not represent even one of the values they normally preach about?

Because even the independants are fooled by charisma.

This brings to mind a quote from the movie "training day" where Alonzo says, "The sh!t's chess, it ain't checkers".

Sarah Palin:

Any Corporate CEO is tasked with looking out for the bottom line. My business was to look out for Alaskan's bottom line. Our state Constitution stipulates that the citizens actually own our natural recourses. Oil Companies would partner with Alaskans to develop our resources, and corporations would make decisions based on the best interest of their shareholders, and that was fine. But in fulfillment of my oath, I would make decisions based on the best interest of our shareholders, the people of Alaska.

Amen sister.
