The Richard Sherman hit on Buffalo's Dan Carpenter that brought an ugly Twitter comment followed by an apology from the Bills kicker's wife has now seen the Seahawks cornerback fined $9,115 (8,366 euros) by the NFL. The play came at the end of the first half of the Seahawks' victory over the Bills on Monday night, when Sherman was flagged for moving prior to the snap on a field-goal attempt. Officials didn't immediately blow the whistle to stop play and Sherman didn't receive a penalty on the field after he crashed into Carpenter, although the league's senior vice president of officiating tweeted during the game that he should have been called for unnecessary roughness.
