Guest sixstorm1
HI, I've been experiencing this issue on 3 completely different computers, all running Windows 7 x64. Some are clean installs, some are OEMs. Microsoft Security Essentials is installed on all of them, and makes the computer to randomly hang or freeze at the login screen. About 1 out of 3 login attemps, hangs or freezes while Windows is preparing the desktop. If I turn disable the Microsoft Antimalware Service, then the issue completely goes away. I also noticed in the Event Log the following error during login: "Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D". I suppose that this must related to the hang. Some forums suggested to delete the EppOobe.etl file, but it did not change anything, still got some hangs and still got the error. I searched the Web about this issue and I am clearly not the only one with it. Is Microsoft aware of this? Is there a known fix? I have the latest MSE. Thank you! Continue reading...
