Security Essentials showing "potentially unprotected" when it's not!!

My Security Essentials shows a warning icon and says I'm "potentially unprotected" because it has been a while since I scanned when I just scanned the night before. This happens quite regularly. I'm running an up to date version of XP Professional. Any ideas? Thanks
