Security Update for Windows XP (KB2676562) fails to install Error Code: 0x8007054F

have sony vaio laptop w/ winxp home edition version 2002 w/ sp3 and windows update keeps trying to install Security Update for Windows XP (KB2676562)- it has downloaded without issue but fails to install repeatedly giving Error Code: 0x8007054F - have
tried for over 6 weeks to find a solution without any luck -since microsoft list this as a critical security issue i would like to get it resolved- any help would be appreciated
