Hello Guys,

I have the following situation that, after running a specific policy that change desktop wallpaper on Windows XP machines, there appearing the shadows on the background of icons. I have tested also, that shadows on desktop icons start appearing only after a client takes a policy which change wallpaper on desktop.

It looks like, this is a really problematic issue. I have tried multiple methods, Below are the followings:

  1. [ ]Right click On My computer -> properties->advance-> performance-> settings
    Check the custom option and then check the Use drop shadows for the icons labels on the desktop
    [ ]Right-click on Desktop - "Arrange Icons by" and ensure Lock Web
    items is cleared.
    [ ]Control Panel - Display Properties - Desktop tab - Customize Desktop -
    Web tab. Clear all check boxes.

But no results,

Maybe there's a something like a change, add or edit in the registry.. ?

This issue is a very critical for me and if you have some resolutions and suggestions please post here as soon as possible - links, your experience, kind of solutions.

Thanks in advance,
