Should convicted pedophiles have any rights?

I started this thread (poll) to see how many people TH convinced that pedophiles deserve to have rights.

While most decent minded people will think they don't, but extreme actions like that will NEVER be taken

The problem is the gray area between a 15 and 18 year old couple... If a young child is involved then I see no reason to return the sicko to society for them to strike again... I don't believe in the death penalty but I believe in making felons wish there were a death penalty in a place I would put them.

That is sort of where I think the wrong issue is being faught here. I think to start there needs to be a new classification for this situation

I think making life EXTREMELY difficult for them is the right way however I want to see things get ALOT worse for them.

 

I beleive in the ankle bracelets they make some parolees wear, however I don't think they use them enough. It would be nice if all paedophiles when released from jail had to wear one. At this time I don't think they can be tracked real time wherever they go, however I would feel alot better if they had such a system where they could be tracked and if they were seen to be near a danger area such as a school then something could be done. Obviously the state does not have the funds to watch them 24-7 but if the sicko knew they could be looking at him anytime then maybe he would be more careful.

 

Just yesterday a paedophile in Tampa Florida area tried to pull a 12 year old girl out of a skating rink, she kicked the bastard and got away, keeping in mind she was wearing roller skates, that must have smarted.

 

I have been trying to make myself aware of what the paedos look like that live in my town because I have every intention of approaching them and telling them I know who they are and they better be watching for me because I'm watching them.

I'm lucky. Apparently peodophiles can't afford to live in my town or any surrounding ones either (frankly I can't afford it either) but at least I feel my daughter is relatively safe. Please quote the words in the Constitution that allow states to deprive felons of second amendment rights but not first amendment rights. Of course, all rational people, which does not include ADHD boy, recognize that limiting someones residence within so many feet of a house of worship does not exclude them from attending religious services. There are pretty solid reasons why opponents of these laws tend to focus on the 5th Amendment, not the first.

While attempting to insult MRIH, you repeatedly fling at him the epithet, "Mexican". Now why is this supposed to hurt? Is there something inherently wrong with Mexico or Mexicans? Don't you like enchiladas? I would assume that the vast majority of Mexicans would hold an innate pride/love/allegiance to their country, - just as Americans/Canadians do - (and if you doubt this, just travel outside your country once or twice and see what bubbles up from your belly when someone insults your homeland in a face to face conversation) - therefore taunting someone by calling them a "Mexican" would probably simply result in a yawn - or a burst of pride - "Yep! I do have a lot of problems with many aspects of the Mexican culture, as well as I wish some of the better aspects could be adopted into American culture.

 

For instance: I can't stand the immigrants who come here (from any where, not just Mexico) who are escaping a politcal and economic shit-hole and immidiately upon arrival start to transform the US into the same shit-hole they fled! It doesn't make sense!

 

On the flip side, we Hispanics have very strong family ties that seem a bit diminished in the American culture. The strong family thing is very good. Let me explain. In the hispanic culture, if a criminal is caught, his family will beat him mercilessly, but they would never rat him out to the authorities. He will behave out of fear of his tight-knit family. It seems that Americans don't have this type of control over their own family members and rely on the government to chastise them. (if I'm wrong, I appologize, but that is how it seems to me)

 

I think Mexican people for the most part are very hard-working and decent people, but their Government is so fucked-up and corrupt it is not even funny! I really hate going there and dealing with the corrupt police and civil servants.

Pedophiles are those who lust after those who are 12 and under, so the 15/18 year old thing doesn't apply. ALTHOUGH the 18 year old would be labeled a sex offender in some states, and many would have to take classes in the sex offender treatment program along side child molestors and rapists. There should be no gray area. The statutory rape laws need to be universal across the country, and the age of consent should be lowered in most states.
