Heard of them?

I like them, it's really good to hear some non-mainstream music, every once in a while. They've got a new album coming out, called "Takk", which means "thanks". I think it'll be good.

I would list my fave songs by them, if there was any possibility you'd understand them lol

Agreed, that's a great song.

Been a while since I listened to it though.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I might be, since to stare is "stara", but I'm not sure. I'll check with dad, he knows this stuff. EDIT: Dad didn't know, neither did my dictionary, so I'm guessing your suggestion is the rightest one.

I'm thinking it's just something the singer made-up, it's very easy to make such words up.

Yes we do, but when it's not in the beginning of a word, it's pronounced as a "V" :thumbsup:

ohww cause there's a word called "yfir" or something but the "f" is not pronounced.

lol I don't remember anymore, but I'm pretty sure Jónsi (the singer) says the "v", it's just very vague, plus he sings very weirdly lol

yeah I think Coldplay had Sigur Ros in mind when they wrote Fix you for example, it sounds so much like them.

and yeah they're both just overall great bands, IMO

Yeah......I've been listening to Sigur Ros since 1999 when one of the best albums ever came out (Ageatis Byrjun). Takk is a pretty decent album, but I prefer their two previous albums.

And it's quite silly comparing them to Coldplay. Coldplay is a boring mediocre band. They can never replicate the lush, beautiful soundscapes of Sigur Ros.

I've just discovered Sigur Ros, and I say discovered because that's what listening to this is like: a total discovery of the world and oneself. Go buy this now and be moved.

My interest in Iceland just grew..

well, I'm glad more people are beginning to like them

I love their music, and well, the fact I speak the language they sing in, does help, but the music stands out though
