I am unable to open the Sound icon in my control panel. I have a Dell XPS computer ( 1 year old). Up until of late, I was unable to open ITunes but it strangely opened last night. I have run a check disk using the Windows 7 original installation disk without any luck. Strangely enough...after many weeks of the Sounbd Icon not opening..it was working for a few minutes last night but quickly failed when I started the computer this morning.
I called the Dell technical support line and although most helpful....3 calls and 6 hours later....their only suggestion was to reinstall Windows 7 which I would prefer not to do for obvious reasons.
Any help would be much appreciated.
