I noticed, for the first time I think, this Fall, that the bug-population

dropped dramatically _before_ the first frost.

Kind of weirds me out, since I always figured it was freezing that kept us

from being overrun by small arthropods in the "Temperate" Zone.

Not here. Lots of bugs during indian summer. There's even a stink bug

that can be seen midwinter when it's just above freezing crawling slowly

but definitely crawling. It's even possible to pick up a tick during a

midwinter warm spell.
