Suspect charged in Louisiana shooting death of ex-NFL player McKnight

(Reuters) - A man suspected of fatally shooting former National Football League player Joe McKnight last week in a possible road rage case near New Orleans has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, local media reported on Tuesday. Ronald Gasser, 54, has been jailed in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, where the sheriff's office was preparing a news conference, WGNO-TV and other media said. McKnight, 28, was pronounced dead at a traffic intersection after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said in a statement at the time.
