i have two laptops, both running W7. The Dell is running Home Premium and the HP is running W7 Ultimate. Originally when I bought the HP it had the copy of W7 Home Premium on it and I successfully installed that license on the Dell. My company then purchased a new copy of Ultimate as they required my computer to connect to their domain, which Home Premium couldn't do. I then upgraded the HP to W7 Ultimate and the domain stuff all worked like a charm.
This was a while ago and (in normal Windows tradition) the OS on both machines requires a re-install to get rid of the redundant s/w that Windows accumulates. However it turns out that I have misplaced the bought copy of Ultimate. I now have a slow licensed computer but I cannot rebuild it because I don't have the product key. Is there any possibility of retrieving the Ultimate's Product Key from the HP so that I can do a clean re-install?
